Shannon Smith-Bernardin Awarded Grant for Street Health Outreach Education Project

Shannon Smith-Bernardin, PhD, RN, assistant adjunct professor in Social and Behavioral Sciences, has been awarded Innovations Funding for Education for her project “House Calls to the Homeless: Street Health Outreach Education.”

The project, which begins July 1, will incorporate didactics and experiential learning to increase the capacity of health care students in the needs and care of homeless individuals who are unsheltered. Smith-Bernardin is partnering with Scott Steiger, MD, of the School of Medicine to launch the project.
