Alum Stephanie Sangalang (MS, 2011) received a DAAD scholarship to present her group's research on the polio outbreak in Syria at the International Association for Impact Assessment conference in Japan come May 11-14.  The theme of this conference is "Resilience and Sustainability".

The Deutscher Akademischer Austauschdienst (DAAD) is the German Academic Exchange Service, a national agency that provides grants for higher education. The DAAD has an Information Center in San Francisco.The San Francisco Information Center was established in 2002 order to better serve the needs of students, faculty, and institutions of higher education in the western half of the U.S. who are interested in international exchange. The primary goal of the Information Center is to build and strengthen ties between German and North American universities, and to promote study and research in Germany.

If any Health Policy students are interested in a research stay or short study in Germany, they may eligible to apply for funding. Ms. Sangalang has offered her assitance in helping with the application process.  Please contact Brandee if you are interested.
